1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Mawadda, an app for Muslims seeking marriage, operated by Craftbyte Studios LLC ("Mawadda," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using Mawadda, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

2. Who can use Mawadda

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into marriage to use Mawadda. By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, that you’re creating the account for yourself (not on behalf of someone else, except as described in Section 7 below), and that you’ll keep only one account.

3. Your account

You’re responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You can pause or hide your profile at any time from Account settings, and you can request deletion of your account at any time — from within the app, or, if you no longer have access to it, by emailing [email protected]. Deletion goes through a short cooling-off window before it’s final, and may be delayed if your account is part of an active safety investigation — we’ll never let a deletion request make a safety report against you disappear.

4. How you agree to treat other members

While using Mawadda, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or send explicit or offensive content to another member
• Misrepresent your identity, age, marital status, or intentions
• Solicit money, gifts, or financial information from another member
• Use Mawadda for commercial solicitation, advertising, or spam
• Create more than one account, or create a new account after being suspended or banned
• Share another member’s photos, messages, or personal information without their consent
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or use automated tools to access the app

5. Content you share

You keep ownership of the photos, profile answers, and messages you share on Mawadda. By posting them, you give us permission to host, store, and display them as needed to operate the app — for example, showing your published photo to a match, or retaining a reported message so our moderation team can review it.

Photos are reviewed before they’re shown to anyone else, and messages are automatically screened for a small number of safety issues (like harassment or sharing contact information before you’ve had a chance to get to know someone). You’re responsible for what you post, and content that violates these Terms may be removed.

6. Family and wali features

Mawadda lets you optionally invite a wali, guardian, or trusted family member to help with your search — for example, to suggest profiles or to read your conversations, if you choose to grant that access. A delegate can never send messages or take actions as you, and reading your conversations is read-only. You control exactly what a delegate can see, and you can revoke their access at any time; every action a delegate takes is logged and visible to you. A delegate must not use this access for any purpose other than helping the member who invited them, and misuse may result in that delegate’s own account being suspended. Because this applies to any member, a conversation you have with a match may also be visible to that match’s own wali, if they’ve granted them access.

7. Identity verification

Identity verification is optional. You can verify in one of two ways: an automated check with a third-party provider that reviews a government-issued ID together with a live selfie, or a selfie that a member of our moderation team compares to your published photos. If it passes, your profile is marked as verified. This is not a background check, and a verified badge is not a guarantee of a member’s identity, intentions, or eligibility to marry.

8. Your safety

Mawadda does not run criminal background checks on members, and we can’t guarantee the truthfulness of what a member tells you. You’re responsible for exercising your own judgment when communicating with, meeting, or making decisions about another member — including telling a trusted contact before meeting someone in person and meeting in a public place. Report and block tools are available from any profile or conversation, and every report reaches our moderation team.

9. Moderation and enforcement

We review photos before they’re published and screen messages for a limited set of safety issues. If you violate these Terms, we may warn you, restrict features, suspend your account, or permanently ban you, depending on the severity — permanent bans go through a senior member of our moderation team. If your account is suspended or banned, you can request a review from within the app.

10. Mawadda Plus and purchases

Mawadda Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks additional features. Depending on your device, it’s billed through your device’s app store or, for web purchases, our payment processor, at the price shown at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period — manage or cancel through your app store’s account settings, or, for a web purchase, through the "Manage subscription" link in the app.

Strong Compatibility, Boost, and Reset History credit packs are one-time purchases of consumable digital credits, not a subscription. All purchases are handled by the app stores or our web payment processor according to their own payment terms; except at Mawadda’s discretion, or where required by their policies or by law, purchases are final and non-refundable.

11. Intellectual property

Mawadda’s app, design, and branding belong to Craftbyte Studios LLC. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose — finding a spouse. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the app itself.

12. Ending your use of Mawadda

You may stop using Mawadda and request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 3). We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, at our discretion, and will let you know when reasonably possible.

13. No guarantees

Mawadda is provided "as is." We don’t guarantee that you’ll find a match, that a match will lead to marriage, or that the app will always be available or error-free. We work to keep the platform safe and reliable, but can’t promise it will be uninterrupted.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Craftbyte Studios LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Mawadda, including damages arising from the conduct of another member. Our total liability for any claim relating to Mawadda is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we’ll let you know in the app. Continuing to use Mawadda after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
